Pax Preceptory No. 210 – Widnes
When Pax Preceptory No. 210 was consecrated, the world was a very different place.
No smartphones. No instant messages. No constant noise of modern life. News moved slower, conversations mattered more, and a man’s reputation was built on his conduct, his word and his character.
And yet, some things have not changed.
Faith. Honour. Loyalty. Service. Brotherhood.
That is the strength of tradition.
Meeting at the Masonic Temple, Kingsway, Widnes, Pax Preceptory carries one of the most beautiful and meaningful names in Knights Templar Masonry.
Pax means peace.
Its banner speaks with quiet dignity. The dove with the olive branch, the laurel wreath, the Lancashire rose, and the words “Pax in Aeternum” all point to something deeper than ceremony alone. They remind us that true strength is not found in noise or force, but in discipline, faith, reconciliation and peace.
That is a powerful message for any Knights Templar Preceptory.
The world may move faster than ever, but tradition still has its place. It reminds us who we are, what we stand for, and what kind of men we are called to become.
Times change. Society changes. The world changes.
But men of character don’t age.
For the members of Pax Preceptory No. 210, there is much to be proud of — a noble name, a distinctive banner, a proud home in Widnes, and a continuing place in the story of Knights Templar Masonry within the Provincial Priory of Lancashire.
