Edmund Plantagenet Preceptory No. 61, meeting at Warrington Masonic Hall, Winmarleigh Street, carries a proud and deeply Lancastrian name. Its banner, with the three golden lions and blue label, links beautifully to Edmund Plantagenet, Earl of Lancaster — a name connected with royal history, the House of Lancaster and the age of Christian knighthood.
The Preceptory may have been founded in 1961, but the story behind its name reaches much further back — to medieval England, to the Plantagenets, to Lancaster, and to the ideals of courage, faith and duty.
That is what makes this Preceptory so special.
